The milestone tenth edition of the Mumbai-based All About Music conference—widely regarded as the largest of its kind in India—will be held from 25 to 27 August.

“We’re thinking less about the last decade and more about the next one”, says Chandni Soni, the business head of the music conference. The discussions, for instance, will feature “dedicated conversations around AI, music technology and future business models”.

This year, a number of the events are being expanded. The showcases, which were previously held in the evenings after the conclusion of the keynotes, panels, masterclasses and workshops, will now take place through the day, in a separate performance room under the banner ‘Music X’.

The intention, the organisers say, is to provide space for a larger range of artists working across multiple genres and languages.

Artists who are interested in playing the conference need to pay an application fee of Rs499 ($5.20 approx), which will be refunded if they aren’t selected. If they land a performance spot, they can attend the rest of the events without having to purchase an artist pass.

They can also submit an entry to the ‘Pitch Your Music’ sessions, which have grown to six categories and will be held under the banner ‘Access X’. In addition to labels and filmmakers, they can present their work to A&Rs and music supervisors as well as managers and booking agents.

Aspiring and up-and-coming event organisers, meanwhile, can pitch their live-IP ideas to brands and venues. Like last year, there will also be a chance for music-related startup founders to pitch their ventures to potential investors.

As with ‘Music X’, applicants who are selected for any of the ‘Access X’ events can attend the entire conference through their Rs499 application fee, which will be refunded to those who aren’t shortlisted.

Also changing this time around: more Ask Me Anything sessions with established industry professionals. Instead of just two Connect Corner sessions—where delegates can meet and network with a variety of music industry folk on a one-to-one basis—daily, there will be five on each day of the event.

Tickets for All About Music, which are priced at Rs3,500, Rs9,000 and Rs15,000 for students, artists and general delegates respectively, are being sold on thumpN.com.

The conference is organised by Create and Collab, which is a division of TM Ventures, an entertainment and talent management company in which Universal Music Group acquired a majority stake in 2022.
