Having sold nearly 2.4m tickets for the next BTS tour, Hybe has now revealed the next plank in the K-Pop group’s comeback strategy: a deal with Netflix.
The latter will be airing ‘BTS The Comeback Live | Arirang’ on 21 March. The performance will be streamed live from Seoul the day after the group’s new album ‘Arirang’ is released.
It will be “the first-ever live event broadcast from Korea to be livestreamed globally” according to the press release, although that claim is only true for Netflix itself.
Back in 2020, BTS attracted 756,000 paying fans from more than 100 countries for their ‘Bang Bang Con The Live’ livestream. The same year, the group’s ‘Map of the Soul ON:E’ livestream pulled in 993,000 fans (again, paying) from 191 countries.
In 2026, Netflix will also be premiering a feature-length documentary called ‘BTS: The Return’ on 27 March. The film will follow the group on the comeback trail following their military-service hiatus.
