UK independent-labels body AIM is preparing for its annual awards in September, with a raft of nominees announced this week for the respected event.
Fcukers scored three nominations – for best independent album, best independent track and independent breakthrough. Artists with two nominations include Robyn, Jorja Smith, Nova Twins, Jalen Ngonda, Jim Legxacy, Romy and Tiana Major9.
(That’s a cracking festival lineup right there…)
In terms of the labels behind the nominated artists, Young received five nods, ahead of XL Recordings (four), and Ninja Tune, FAMM and Marshall Records (three each).
“The array of artists and genres on display here demonstrates once again that the independent music sector is the most exciting, authentic and groundbreaking place in the industry,” said CEO Gee Davy.
